Spanning over 13,000 hectares to the northeast of the Medina, the Palmeraie of Marrakech was established in the 12th century under Sultan Ali Ben Youssef. It was historically fed by hundreds of khettaras—an ingenious subterranean gravity drainage system that brought water from the High Atlas foothills without surface evaporation.
Today, the Palmeraie holds several hundred thousand date palms alongside olive orchards, citrus groves, and open earthen trails. It has evolved into a premier residential and luxury retreat sanctuary, home to international five-star resorts, private gated villas, equestrian clubs, and championship golf courses.

Because our hot air balloon launch fields are located in the rural Haouz plains north of Marrakech, Palmeraie properties sit directly on our flight morning route. This means guests enjoy extra sleep in the morning and a faster return journey after breakfast.
